What is a CPO?
Washington County hosts multiple Community Participation Organizations (CPOs). These organizations are community-led, made up of neighbors who work together to improve their communities. CPOs focus on topic that affect the community, such as transportation, parks and trails, housing and business developments, safety, public health, and more. The CPO that serves King City and surrounding vicinities is the CPO4K chapter.
CPO4K past activities and accomplishments include:
● Worked with Washington County Commissioners and Planning for approvals to install the stoplight at 13st and Beef Bend
● Recommended the right turn lane going south on 99W to Beef Bend Road to ODOT
● Held election forum for state, city, school district and aquatic district candidates
● Provided information to Clean Water Services about flooding and water runoff issues that resulted in improved development standards
CPO meetings are open to all community members. They provide a place to exchange ideas, discuss local issues, and for neighbors to work together to affect change in their communities.
Want to suggest a topic for a future meeting? What do you want to learn about?
Meeting topics can range from transportation, land use, housing, the environment, business, safety, water, parks and trails, elections – what the community wants.
